SOT. Imam Mohammed Ustar (in Russian): "In the first place, we, Muslims of Ukraine, worry about Ukraine's unity. It's a great shame that Crimea left Ukraine and we hope that the rest of Ukraine will stay united, that Donbass, the east and west stay together. We are worried about the current situation in Ukraine and that politicians in this state of crisis cannot find a compromise. We pray that people, politicians, economists and outside forces would help to calm people, and find a solution to the situation that Ukraine is currently experiencing."

Muslims gathered for prayer in Lugansk in eastern Ukraine Friday during a sermon held at Lugansk Mosque. The sermon, delivered by Imam Mohammed Ustar, was attended by around 30 Muslims from the surrounding area.

Speaking after the sermon Ustar expressed Ukrainian Muslims' concerns about the future unity of the Ukrainian state. He added that Muslims were praying that politicians, economists and outside forces would help to calm the people.
